Floral 8 x 4 cm

An example of Ari or Mocchi  work – originally done  on leather,  hence the technique  of working on a tambour frame with a hook – this piece on  very fine cotton ground  was made in 2001 following the earthquake to raise money for the rescue work – originally part of a curtain – given to me by Anne Morrell.

Adam’s legacy  of supremely skilled  embroidery continues with  his sons.

Both motifs can be seen decorating the cover of The Techniques of Indian Embroidery by Anne Morrell 1994 published by Batsford.
