Hand embroidery in silk thread on silk ground – straight stitches resulting in a sense of depth and a subtle handling of light and shade.
She started it when we met at her college in Tokyo in 1985 and said she would make an embroidery for me and give it to me when she made it to Oast Cottage which she did ten years later on the 27th August 1995.
