Following a training in Fine Art at Manchester Polytechnic achieving a First Class Honours in 1980 followed by an MA in Fine Art in 1983, finally concluding with an Art Teachers Certificate at Goldsmiths College in 1986.

Her embroidery is therefore fine art based using both hand and machine stitch with some works resulting in a low relief sculpture.

2024 Currently working on a commission for Chester Cathedral.

She continues to exhibit widely in both solo and group exhibitions that include major shows produced by Prism Textiles, Festival of Quilts and New Designers , Knitting & Stitching Show and numerous major museums across this country and Hungary, Germany and France.

Her work is in both Public and Private collections and is featured in numerous magazines that include Embroidery, Stitch, Workbox and Textile Fiber Forum Magazine.

1986–2016 practicing art teacher and Head of Art at Poynton High School Cheshire.

Teaching, Talks and Workshops continue in Schools, Colleges, U3A groups, the WI and many Textile Groups.

Chair of Textile Connections, formerly Glossop Branch of The Embroiderers’ Guild.
